Year's End



Now winter downs the dying of the year,
And night is all a settlement of snow;
From the soft street the rooms of houses show
A gathered light, a shapen atmosphere,
Like frozen-over lakes whose ice is thin
And still allows some stirring down within.

Memorial

Over Christmas weekend, my friends and I went to the 911 Memorial. I was impressed with the progress made in just a year. They had built fountains where the two towers once were. New skyscrapers and buildings are being constructed around the memorial. It was truly inspirational to see.
